The Griffin Inn is a listed building built in the mid 19th century as part of the Llanbedr Hall Estate.

It is situated at the foot of the Clwydian Hills pbn hosting Russia on a bend in the A494 Mold to Ruthin road, in an area renowned for its scenic beauty and historic associations. We are just one and a half miles from the mediaeval town of Ruthin with its castle which holds regular Banquets,whose my ip and which is a picturesque town with half timbered buildings. We are also one and a half miles from the Offa's Dyke Long Distance path, which stretches from Prestatyn on the North Wales Coast to Chepstow in the South. Transport can be arranged to and from the coldplay tickets path and onward transportation of luggage if required.

Moel Famau (Mother Mountain) is just three miles expired domains distant and within a fifty-mile radius our guests can explore mountains, lakes, rivers, seashores and castles. Trout fishing is nearby at a variety of fisheries including both Llandegia and Pen y Ffrith. Llangollen, with its International Eisteddfod is less than 20 miles and the historic City of Chester and its walls can be reached within a half-hour by car.

The beaches of North and West Wales are easily accessible and the North Wales expressway (A55) brings seo hosting Anglesey and Ireland within easy reach. Both Liverpool and Manchester International Airports are also nearby.

There is a choice of three bars - the Tap Room, or public bar where you can play darts, dominoes  - the snug or small lounge, with its log fire in the cooler months - the main lounge, with its variety of seating, log burner, pool table and television.

We have one double, one twin and one family  en-suite rooms with beamed ceilings - all recently refurbished to very high standards. There is a colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities in all rooms. A trouser press, hairdryer, iron and ironing board are also available on request.

proprietors accept no responsibility.

Lunches are available from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm every Wednesday to Saturday with a selection of sandwiches, baguettes or bar meals.

On Sundays we offer a set carvery from 12:00 noon until 1:30pm.

Evening meals are served from 6:00pm to 8:30 pm on Thursday to Saturday with a selection of meals served in the non-smoking dining room.

How to find us

From the M56 (Manchester) follow motorway to the end when it joins the A494. Continue past Mold and you will find The Griffin Inn at the bottom of the hills on the left hand side, one and a half miles before Ruthin.
